Embassy: Russophobia and hypocrisy are hidden under the guise of Swedish freedom of speech
The Swedish authorities are proud of their freedom of speech and talk about the independence of all government bodies and the media when making decisions, but these statements hide hypocrisy and Russophobia, the Russian embassy in Stockholm reported in Telegram.
“In fact, all these big words are nothing more than a screen,” the diplomatic mission emphasized. Russian diplomats drew attention to the “soap opera about “Russian spies” in Sweden” that was released last year. “As a result, truly “revealing” footage was obtained: diplomats play sports, move around the territory of the diplomatic mission, and also refuse to answer the question “tell me, are you really a Russian spy?”,” the post says.
The publication also reports on the implementation by the Swedish media of a “directive” aimed at discrediting the Russian Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad (“Pravfond”). In addition, the embassy announced an attack on the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden and its representatives.
“In the Swedish “kingdom of freedom of speech” this freedom is immediately forgotten if someone wants to use it to express sympathies for Russia,” the diplomatic mission concluded.
Earlier, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson answered a question about the right of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to strike Russia with Western weapons. According to him, Kyiv has the right to self-defense through military operations that are directed against “enemy territory.”
