The international congress is held from March 28 to 30 and will feature the participation of 36 chefs and pastry chefs who will represent the ‘1,001 Flavors’ of the Community
The Region of Murcia will highlight the historical roots and innovation of its gastronomy, together with the excellence of its professionals, during the Madrid Fusión specialized congress, which will be held from March 28 to 30 at the Ifema fairgrounds in Madrid , where there will be a tour of some of the most representative elaborations and products.
The Minister of the Presidency, Tourism, Culture and Sports, Marcos Ortuño, presented this Friday at the Tourism Qualification Center (CCT) the details of the Region’s participation, of which he stressed that “we continue to work to make the Region of Murcia a preferred destination within gastronomic tourism». To do this, he stressed, “it could not miss the best world showcase to continue promoting our products and flavors, discover and make our chefs known, give the sector a boost and learn about the trends that allow us to continue at the forefront of gastronomy” .
In the twentieth edition of Madrid Fusión, 36 chefs and pastry chefs will represent the Region. They will have a new stand of 80 square meters of the ‘1001 Flavors’, with a design that simulates a wooden vine, which pays tribute to the vineyards of the Region and its wine tourism offer led by the three Wine Routes: Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla, and which will serve as a stage for 36 ‘showcooking’, tastings, tastings, talks and presentations. All in all, “a stand where our fruits and vegetables will once again stand out, the best of the Murcian orchard, as an identity symbol of our Region,” said Ortuño.
On this occasion, led by José Cremades, from the La Cangreja group, the star presentation of the Region will be held, under the title ‘What the garum taught us’, where the historical roots of the Region will be valued from that gastronomic product for which it was best known in ancient times. Garum is a sauce that had one of its most appreciated variants in Carthago Nova and has been recovered to become one of the most valued condiments in haute cuisine today.
The talk by chef Juan Guillamón, from AlmaMater Murcia, with ‘Flavors of the landscape’, will revolve around the kid from Segura; and, for her part, the Michelin Star chef, María Gómez, from Magoga, with ‘Origen’, will cover the evolution from a food house to a gastronomic restaurant.
The minister pointed out that “participation in Madrid Fusión will give the Region the visibility it deserves, continue supporting the hospitality sector and the business fabric, promoting local products, sustainability, gastronomic culture and pride of belonging”.
The allocation allocated by the Community for the participation of the Region in Madrid Fusion amounts to 130,000 euros, an investment included in the new strategy ‘Region of Murcia 1,001 Flavors’, which has a total of one million euros to promote definitively the promotion of the heritage of the 45 municipalities, both nationally and internationally.
The regional presence at the congress will be completed with different advertising actions, both printed, digital and on social networks. This year, in addition, the students of the Tourism Qualification Center of the Restaurant and Cuisine Management courses will visit the fair to see the event first-hand and attend the presentations.
