The rainbow flag flies from this Monday on the balcony of the Lorca Town Hall to commemorate the International LGTBIQ Pride Day. The initiative is part of the program of activities that will take place until July 8 to make this group visible, organized by the Department of Diversity and the Lorcairis association, chaired by Enrique Olcina.

On the 24th, a selection of books with LGTBIQ content will be presented at the Pilar Barnés library and on the 26th, a bike ride around the city will be held, organized in collaboration with Lorca Biciudad. On the 27th at 8:30 p.m., the reading of the manifesto will take place in the Plaza Arcoiris and at 10:00 p.m. the lights will be switched on with the colors of the LGTBIQ flag on the Alcalde Miguel Navarro catwalk.

On the 28th, flags will be placed in emblematic buildings of the municipality such as the Huerto Ruano mansion, the Guevara palace, the Pilar Barnés library and the Sports House.

On July 4, an exhibition will be inaugurated in the Huerto Ruano entitled ‘Pride against prejudice: refutation, reconquest and reinvention against lgtbiphobia’ of which Pablo Burgos is the author.

On the 6th, the Cineclub Paradiso will screen the film ‘Identity erased’ and on the 8th, the Custom Lorca association will tour the streets of the town center with their motorcycles and rainbow flags. The tour will end in the Plaza Arcoiris, where a party with live music will be held that will include activities such as a heel race and a bag toss.
