Practicing psychologist, author of books Anna Grashchenkova, in an interview with Moslenta, told how not to panic in a stressful situation, and advised a way to bypass mass anxious moods.
“It often happens that world, political, economic events cause an emotional wave that gives rise to general panic. We have already observed this in the recent past, when during the coronavirus pandemic, people rushed to buy food, household items, and so on en masse, ”the psychologist recalled. This, she says, is happening now.
Grashchenkova explained that the panic state has some features: a person acts quickly, impetuously, weakly or does not analyze information coming from outside at all, which leads to rash actions, the consequences of which can be devastating. She noted that if panic is widespread, then the likelihood of emotional infection increases significantly.
According to the expert, sometimes it is difficult for people to cope with themselves in crisis situations, when the field of vision narrows. “Therefore, before you get involved in the general emotional wave and feed it with your psychic energy, take a break. Separate yourself from what others write or say about it. What exactly is your opinion on this? What is more important for you: your personal condition or what is being imposed on you from the outside? – the psychologist suggested the algorithm of internal independent work.
