The PSOE has insisted this Monday that the leader of the PP and Galician president between 2009 and 2022, Alberto Núñez Feijóo“rectify” and “go voluntarily” to the commission of investigation of the Xunta’s contracts.
In a statement, reported by Efe, the group asks for an explanation regarding “the relations between the Eulen Group and the sister of the popular leader (Micaela Núñez Feijóo); Universal Support and his brother-in-law (Ignacio Cardenas Boots); and the extra cost at the Álvaro Cunqueiro” Hospital in Vigo.
It is not the first time that the PSOE requests Feijóo’s appearance in this commission of the Galician parliament and they specify that with this they intend “shed light on the shadows that exist” around the leader of the popular ones.
In that sense, they point to journalistic investigations that “give a glimpse connections little explained in the hiring of the Xunta with relatives“from the former Galician president, “which involves millions of Galician tax money.”
“Feijóo intends to avoid explanations by taking advantage of the absolute majority of the PP (in the Galician parliament), but It is unavoidable that he sits down to answer questions about his management at the head of the Xunta de Galicia and their way of understanding public procurement,” they say in the statement.
37 million in awards
In this text, they explain that the sister of Feijóo She has been director of the Eulen Group for the northwest of Spain since 2016 and that since the beginning of her mandate at the Xunta in 2009, “the company has received more than 37 million euros in awards” from the Government of the autonomous community.
In turn, his brother-in-law is the commercial director of Universal Support and during the pandemic, “between May 2020 and October 2021“, this company “received 19.2 million euros in hand-picked contracts.”
Finally, they denounce the “estimated extra cost of 470 million euros” in the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital of Vigo“indicated by the Galician Accounts Council as an inefficient concession model.”
