The consequences of the terrible DANA in the Valencian Country, Castilla-La Mancha or Andalusia They continue to mark political activity. In this context, different ultra groups have taken advantage of the situation to agitate, impose their story or spread hoaxes. Not only with direct presence in the affected territories but the echoes They have reached Madrid. Specifically, and as seen last Saturday, at the PSOE headquarters in Ferraz.
A demonstration with the presence of openly neo-Nazi groups such as Núcleo Nacional toured the streets that go from Plaza de España to the vicinity of the socialist headquarters. The Government Delegation in Madrid changed the route of the march so that it did not reach the gates of Ferraz. But that did not stop hundreds of hooded men from directing their anger and fascist and violent proclamations against Pedro Sánchez.
These events caused incidents, even with journalists or pedestrians, as seen in videos published on social networks. And it caused the socialists to break, in a certain way, their communicative silence these days because they were focused on managing the crisis.
Already on Saturday, Ferraz sent a statement to the media in which the “condemnation” and “contempt” to the fact that the streets of Madrid were once again “a place where fascist shouts are heard and Nazi salutes are seen.”
“The PSOE will always be confronting with all the force of democracy the fascist advance that is spreading throughout the world, and especially in our country. No one will find the PSOE lukewarm in condemning these movements, which is why we ask the Popular Party (PP) and Mr. Feijóo to position themselves in the same way. They do not attack the PSOE, they attack our democracy“, they pointed out from Ferraz.
For socialists, “silence, condescension, or looking the other way, only feeds the monster of the extreme right.” This Monday, faced with the silence of the PP leaders, the PSOE has returned to the fray. In a press release quoting its spokesperson Esther Penathe socialists have expressed “their concern about the inability of the PP and Alberto Núñez Feijóoto condemn the Nazi expressions experienced in Madrid last Saturday”.
In the PSOE they remember that these types of demonstrations have been taking place around socialist headquarters for more than a year. In November 2023, a wave of fascist protests began with the excuse of the pact of the PSOE amnesty law with Junts and Carles Puigdemont. The attacks occurred in more than a hundred socialist headquarters throughout the State. Some physical assault was even reported.
“Feijóo has been unable to condemn the attacks suffered through the people’s houses, nor to send a message of solidarity to the thousands of socialist militants who have seen their headquarters attacked by Nazi groups,” Peña added this Monday.
The PSOE will pressure Feijóo “not to let a single more minute pass without issuing an unmitigated condemnation of cries like ‘Gora ETA’, which the Nazis directed at the National Police present in the streets that night,” said the socialist spokesperson. “Every minute that Feijóo remains silent is a minute of encouragement to the fascists,” she added. The PSOE hopes that the conviction will occur as soon as possible, “so that no one can “to think that a government party like the PP shows some kind of condescension with these sinister characters.”
Ferraz sources point to Public what will follow putting pressure on the PP. “You can’t spend the day holding everyone accountable and there are Nazis roaming around Madrid and you don’t condemn it or say anything,” they point out.
Likewise, they recognize that after DANA there has been a rebound in violence against some socialist headquarters in the Valencian Countrywith graffiti and similar although they have preferred not to make it public. “The magma is already set, as soon as someone criticizes something they come back again,” they reflect.
In the socialist leadership they regret that they have not received “not a call for solidarity” in a whole year. They point out that the danger in Ferraz and Madrid is less due to the security that can be deployed around. “But in towns of 5,000 inhabitants, how do you live with graffiti and constant threats?” they ask.
