The PP withdraws a video that included a senior official from Mazón and Rita Barberá’s brother-in-law in the alleged corruption of the PSOE

In the midst of a storm due to the disastrous management of the president of the Valencian Government, Carlos Mazón, of DANA, which on October 29 left more than 200 dead in Valencia, amplified by the lack of self-criticism and assumption of responsibilities in a speech full of lies with the that tried to explain what happened this Friday in the Corts, the PP has published a video on its social networks that, far from diverting attention, has only added fuel to the fire.

Under the title “12 months, 12 judicial cases”, the PP profile in in which close collaborators of the governments of the former mayor of Valencia of the PP, Rita Barberá, are being investigated for the alleged collection of bribes in exchange for awards, thus trying to spread the hoax that it is an investigation linked exclusively to the socialists. The PP has subsequently deleted the video and re-released it ‘corrected’.

In fact, one of the people who appears in the photo composition attached to the video about the case is the popular Jorge Bellver (above left), appointed general director of Relations with Les Corts in July 2023 by Mazón himself. Bellver was Urban Planning Councilor for Barberá and according to the latest investigations by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard in the ‘Azud case’, he exchanged telephone messages (SMS) with José María Corbín, brother-in-law of Rita Berberá, whose photo is also appears in the video (bottom right). In one of the messages, sent on February 3, 2009, Corbín writes: “Remember to talk to the boss.” Although Bellver is not formally charged, he does appear in the summary.

The rest of the photos included in the composition correspond to the former vice mayor of Rita Barberá, Alfonso Grau (center), recently sentenced by the Valencia Court to four and a half years in prison for embezzling public funds and paying a fine of 5 million of euros for a continued crime of bribery in another case, that of the Imelsa case, and in October 2023 he received a final conviction for bribery in another separate case, specifically for accepting gifts from a municipal contractor. Grau, expelled from the PP last August, is another of the main people investigated in the ‘Azud case’.

The other two faces are those of another protagonist of the plot, the historic socialist lawyer José Luis Vera (below left). Above on the right is Rafael Rubio, former municipal spokesperson for the PSPV in the period under investigation and former deputy delegate of the Government, separated from the socialist ranks since his alleged involvement in the case became known.
