The PP of Madrid includes Pedro Sánchez and Begoña Gómez in the list of those appearing for the investigation commission in the Assembly

The Popular Party of Madrid has included the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in its list of those appearing for the Assembly’s investigative commission that will seek to elucidate whether there was favorable treatment between the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and his wife, Begoña. Gomez. The PSOE of Madrid, in turn, has included Isabel Díaz Ayuso and her chief of staff, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, on the list.

The PP has sent its list of 55 names to the media, which includes, as they had already announced, Begoña Gómez and the rector of the UCM, Joaquín Goyache, who they want to appear in the first commission, expectedly on the 13th. When they announced these two names, the PP already warned that based on what was clarified from the testimonies of Gómez and Goyache they would also consider requiring the president of the central Executive.

The list sent by the PP focuses above all on positions at the Complutense University of Madrid, where Gómez had his professorship, and the party argues that its objective is to “return the prestige” to this center. Also included in the list are the former rector of the UCM Carlos Andradas, the former vice-rector of Institutional Relations and Cooperation of the UCM Juan Carlos Doadrio, the dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences of the UCM, Jorge Clemente; or the general secretary of the UCM, Raquel Aguilera Izquierdo.

The PP has also called for other positions linked to the master’s degrees headed by Begoña Gómez (Directorate of Public and Private Fundraising and Competitive Social Transformation) and her chair, in addition to workers from the UCM School of Government.

Likewise, the PP places on its list the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, whose company was a collaborator with Gómez’s chair and who is being investigated by Judge Juan Carlos Peinado in the case that also involves the president’s wife. It also includes representatives of other companies that may have benefited from the alleged favorable treatment.

Coming from the UCM organizational chart, they also include in their list of appearances the vice-rector for Lifelong Training, Employability and Entrepreneurship, María Concepción García Gómez; and the president of the Social Council, Jesús Nuño de la Rosa y Coloma.

Likewise, they require the former vice-rector of Planning of the UCM Juan Carlos Doadrio; to the professor of Political Science at the UCM, José Manuel Ruano de la Fuente, and to the director of the master’s degree in Permanent Training in Public and Private Fundrasing at the UCM, Aurora Castillo.
