Pope Francis has been critical of the West, saying that it cannot now be a good example. He stated this on Friday, September 16, at a press conference for his pool.
“The West as a whole at the moment is not a model example, far from diligent,” said the Pope.
As the pontiff stated, in terms of social justice, the West has become the biggest cemetery not only in Europe, but of all mankind. He also noted that Western countries do not pursue a policy of integration of migrants.
In his opinion, the problem lies in the “understanding of values”. Pope Francis noted that Europe needs to return to fundamental values, and not help other countries.
On September 13, during an apostolic trip to Kazakhstan, Pope Francis called for striving to strengthen the multipolar world and stop strengthening opposing political blocs. According to him, leaders are needed who would promote mutual understanding and dialogue between peoples at the international level.
Earlier, on August 31, Francis declared that humanity is going through a third world war. He expressed the hope that the memory of past tragedies will bring back peace in public and international life.
