A man has been arrested during the early hours of this Sunday as the alleged author of the attack with sticks and bottles on several monks of the congregation of the Holy Spirit of Mount Gilet (Valencia), as reported by the Provincial Command of the Civil Guard.
Investigation sources have reported that the man, 46 years old and of Spanish nationality, is detained at the Puçol Police headquarters, waiting to be brought to justiceexpected this Monday.
The attack occurred on Saturday morning, when the attacker entered the monastery grounds and came to the rooms of several religious, on one of the upper floors. After the attack, the alleged attacker fled from the monastery. From the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) they detailed that they received the notice to assist several injured friars around 10:00 a.m. and that different health resources went to Gilet.
Once there, a SAMU transported a 76-year-old man through head trauma to the Clinical Hospital; while SVB units transported three others injured due to trauma or bruises to the Sagunto hospital. These are three men between 57 and 95 years old.
