The Pentagon signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for $861.3 million to produce HIMARS
The Pentagon has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for $861.3 million for the production of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). This was reported by press service departments.
According to the agreements, the duties will be fulfilled no later than May 31, 2026. The exact number of installations that will be carried out under the new agreement has not been announced.
Earlier it became known that the American ground-based bombs GLSDB (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb), which the United States transferred to Ukraine, turned out to be useless on the battlefield due to Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems.
In February, The War Zone wrote that GLSDB is almost half the price of guided projectiles from HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. One glide bomb, which is equipped with a rocket booster from the M26 ammunition, costs about 50 thousand dollars.
