Pentagon chief Austin: Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Russia with American weapons will be useful
Strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) on Russian territory using American ammunition will be “very useful” to Kyiv. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin stated this in an interview with the TV channel. CNN.
“The new US policy, which allows the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out limited strikes on Russian territory using American ammunition, will be very, very useful to Ukraine in the future,” the head of the department said.
Also, in his opinion, there is “strong support for Ukraine” by both the Democratic and Republican parties in the US Congress, “despite the long adoption” of the bill to allocate funding for the military needs of Kyiv.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Washington would give the go-ahead for Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike Moscow and the Kremlin with American weapons. According to him, the Ukrainian military is allowed to use American weapons only near the country’s border to strike specific targets.
