Penguin, the Penguin series, one of Batman’s classic villains, already has a release window. This was revealed by the head of HBO, Casey Bloys, in an interview with him and it will be available in September 2024.
The fact is that the talk had nothing to do with this program. In reality, they just asked him what HBO affiliates could expect in the next 18 months. This is how he advanced several projects.
Bloys started by saying ‘One of the advantages that I think we have as a company, leaving aside HBO for a second, is all of the Warner Bros. intellectual property.’.
We recommend: The Penguin: what it is about, where to see it and everything we know about this Batman villain series.
Then he added ‘so, after ‘House of the Dragon’, the next big series ahead of us will be ‘Penguin’ with Colin Farrell’. So the Penguin series is considered something of vital importance and not a minor release as some believe.
Casey Bloys highlighted ‘that comes from ‘The Batman’ by Matt Reeves and it’s fantastic. Just as ‘Peacemaker’ came out of James Gunn’s ‘Suicide Squad’, it’s a very good example of what you can do. That will be in September’.
As such, it is the first series played by the Penguin, and apart from Farrell in the lead role, it also has Cristin Milioti as Sofia and Michael Zegen as Alberto, both sons of Carmine Falcone. He also participates in the Clancy Brown series.
Brown is the one who plays the mafia boss Salvatore Maroni. The latter was the one who attacked prosecutor Harvey Dentt with acid, and that is how he created Two-Face.
According to what has been revealed, the Penguin series will have eight episodes and the scripts are written by Lauren LeFranc, who also directs.
Matt Reeves, who directed Batman, serves as executive producer. For now a teaser of the program is available but let’s hope a full trailer for it arrives.
