“The Orphan 2”, directed by William Brent Bell, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It will hit theaters 13 years after its predecessor and will feature Isabelle Fuhrman reprising her role as the fearsome Ester: a 33-year-old woman with dwarfism and psychopathic attitudes.
In conversation with Variety, he revealed that he had no trauma playing such a dark character and understands why some people keep associating them. In reality, this has caused her to compensate for this negative perception with a comfortable treatment.
“This is going to sound like fun, but I think it made me a nicer, friendlier person. When strangers greet you and their immediate reaction is fear, you really have to overcompensate. I was very lucky that even though it became a cult classic after it came out on DVD, I was able to have a childhood.”
“To this day, people say, ‘Did we go to school together?’ And I’m like, ‘I probably haunted you in nightmares in high school, but we don’t know each other.’ It allowed me to have a normal and regular childhood and life, because Esther is very separate and different from me, although for a long time that was the role that people knew me for, at least in the industry, ”she concluded.
What is “The Orphan 2” about?
The prequel, titled “Orphan: first kill”, will explain how Esther escaped from the psychiatric hospital where she is admitted in Estonia and managed to reach the United States to pose as the missing daughter of a millionaire family.
