The number of officially registered unemployed citizens of Russia has decreased since the beginning of the year by more than 2 million. This was reported on Wednesday, December 22, in the secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova following a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the restoration of the labor market.
“The number of registered unemployed has decreased compared to the beginning of the year by more than 2 million and amounted to 780 thousand people,” the secretariat said.
It is noted that the number of vacancies is almost 2.5 times the number of registered unemployed.
Earlier, on December 13, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Elena Mukhtiyarova said that the unemployment rate in the Russian Federation fell to 4.3% in October, the figure became the lowest in recent years. According to her, this data was provided by Rosstat.
On November 22, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced that the level of employment in Russia exceeded the pre-pandemic figure. At the same time, she drew attention to the fact that in a number of regions it has not yet reached dock-like values.
On November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the full restoration of the labor market in the country. The President added that the strategic task of Russia is to consolidate the positive trends in the Russian economy, to ensure its sustainable long-term development.
