Ciudad Juarez.- Following some complications in the construction of the Independencia-Manuel Talamás Camandari bypass interchange, it is expected to open in two weeks, announced the general director of Public Works of the Municipality, Daniel González García.
“Yes, we have fallen behind a little, but a work of this level in the time that we have executed it, I can say that it is on time; the issue of the sandy ground occurred, we could not drill the wells, so we had to open a little more and it is already working,” he said. He stated that the roads are already finished and only work is being done on the absorption wells. “We have been working to finish the absorption wells, it is the only big thing we are missing, as they say, the roads are ready, they are putting up the signage,” he said. “The concrete is already setting, the tunnels are ready, in two weeks we hope to be enabling the section.” Different dates had been discussed for the completion of the road distributor and the last one was August 31. The works began on October 16, 2023 and were projected to be finished in eight months, that is, in June, according to statements by municipal officials. The investment for the construction of the interchange located on the Independencia bypass and Talamás Camandari Boulevard is 314 million pesos, plus an additional 5 million pesos for work by the Municipal Water and Sanitation Board (JMAS), such as the introduction of a purple line and the replacement of the collector located under the intersection. As well as 60 million from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and 66 million pesos for works to replace Gas Natural, it was reported. With the new interchange, drivers will save more than 40 minutes on round-trip travel, it was announced.
