Moscow’s chief narcologist Brune said that beer dehydrates the body and harms the kidneys
The chief narcologist of the Moscow Health Department, Yevgeny Bryun, said that even a single use of alcohol harms the kidneys. At the same time, beer causes them more damage than any other alcoholic drink. RIA News.
Brun debunked the myth about the benefits of beer for the kidneys and said that drinking this drink leads to dehydration. It is doubly burdensome for the body and harms the kidneys, as it promotes urination and the excretion of nutrients, including electrolytes and trace elements.
“And there is a lot of talk about beer as a vitamin drink or ‘liquid bread’, but that’s not true. As well as not the truth about quenching thirst. It contains both alcohol and carbohydrate components in large quantities, which burdens the kidneys. This is a double load. It turns out that beer dehydrates the body twice as much as any other alcohol,” Bruhn explained.
The narcologist added that there is no safe dose of alcohol for the body, since it affects the entire body. The larger the dose of alcohol, the more kidneys are affected.
“Accordingly, if alcohol is 40 degrees, then less is needed to damage the kidneys, strong alcohol is more toxic. And alcohol of a smaller degree – more is required. The concentration of alcohol during use increases with alcoholization and the kidneys are even more “strained”, ”the doctor noted.
Previously, Brune warned about the dangers of alcohol in colds, SARS and COVID-19. Alcohol-containing drinks form an additional burden on the heart, and also lead to intoxication.
