From yesterday until Sunday, Ifepa hosts a new edition of Equimur, one of the most important equine fairs in the country with international impact and the most important equestrian event held in the Region. In addition, this year participation has increased in terms of registration in the contests and also in the commercial exhibition; In fact, 15,000 visitors are expected to visit.
Equimur has the participation of about 350 horses, among the various competitions and exhibitions, with a total of 200 boxes and 100 pens. An important logistics that occupies the 57,000 square meters of the Ifepa facilities, and that includes four tracks, among which the main one stands out, with 1,750 square meters of surface, plus one for sales and another for warming up, in addition to the boxes and corrals. that will house the participating horses, and a large area of both commercial and corporate stands.
The official opening will take place today, at 11 a.m., and will be chaired by the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sara Rubira Martínez, accompanied by the president of the Executive Committee of the Fair Institution, Pedro Ángel Roca Tornel, and the general director of Ifepa, Antonio Miras Morente. The presidents of the Organizing Committee of the event, Antonio Fuentes, and of the Equestrian Federation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Blesa, will also attend.
At this event, and on the occasion of the commemoration of its 200th anniversary, the intervention and exhibition of the Special Cavalry Unit of the National Police is planned.
It is worth remembering that Ifepa has been organizing Equimur for 28 years, with the support of an organizing committee made up of prominent ranchers and professionals, and the important support of the regional Administration, through the Department of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, as well as as the General Directorate of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

Together with SICAB, which is the Final of the Spanish Purebred Championship, Equimur is the most important equine fair in Spain, due to the importance of the farms that participate and the quality of the specimens presented.
50 livestock farms participate in the Conformation Competition, with 120 specimens, from the Region of Murcia and various parts of the country (Lérida, Menorca, Alicante), and from countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Stud farms such as Albert Boyá, San Marc, Las Morerias España, Batán, JF Miño, Zavi España, Manuel Borge España, Piero Coen, Cortijo La Dueña, etc. participate. The participation of Yeguada Maypol and Yeguada El Gato, from Caravaca de la Cruz, stands out, participating with World Champion horses this year in Sicab.
This contest began yesterday and will end on Sunday with the delivery of special prizes for Best Livestock, Best Exhibitor, Champion of the Contest, Functionality, Best Movements, etc., which have previously been judged by international judges.
As a novelty, Equimur has since this edition a new 16×20 meter arena, where ranchers will be able to exhibit their horses for sale, whether mounted or by hand, and which will facilitate interaction between breeders and potential buyers.
Multidisciplinary program
In addition, Equimur has an intense multidisciplinary program, which distinguishes it from other fairs in the sector, with the celebration of several National Competitions such as the National Dressage Competition CVN**, National Dressage Competition CDN** and Territorial, High School , Enganches Indoor Marathon or the Raid, to which this year is added an Exhibition of Riding Schools in the Region, among other activities, in which about 40 students will participate.
One of the featured activities is the III International Blacksmithing and Forging Competition, which is being held for the third time in the Region of Murcia, and organized by the Association of Farriers of the Valencian Community. In this competition, in which about 20 farriers from various points of the national geography and from countries such as France, Italy and even Canada will participate, the skill, ability and good work of the participants will be valued.
Shows
One of the hallmarks of Equimur are its impressive shows, which are held this afternoon, tomorrow and Sunday, and which this year once again feature the participation of Santi Serra, the best horse trainer in the world, and in which The public will also be able to enjoy, with other artists, tumbling exercises, bullfighting, cowboy dressage, dancing with horses, pas de deux, etc. This year the staging of the show Lawrence of Arabia will be added.
This year, Equimur has the participation of the Cavalry Unit of the National Police, an activity within the events commemorating its 200th anniversary. The units from Valencia and Seville will be present at the opening ceremony, as well as with a physical presence during the event.
In addition, Quintiliano Ruiz Sánchez 'Quintín' will be honored for his dedication and collaboration with Equimur. Quintín, a member of the Vibeca Club and whose legacy lives on through his family, has been part of the essence of the shows at this event since its inception.

Professionals will be able to attend various workshops, such as equine dentistry, paraequestrian dressage and natural dressage, as well as training sessions on horse management, physical training of the rider, horse biomechanics, rider-horse communication, etc.
