On September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry explained the specifics and answered key questions about partial mobilization in the country.
Who is subject to partial mobilization
First of all, as Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, representative of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, said, riflemen, tankers, artillerymen, drivers and driver-mechanics will be called up as part of partial mobilization.
There is no order of call, however, one of the key factors in obtaining a summons in the first wave will be the presence of combat experience. Women liable for military service may be called up for some specialties.
Who will avoid partial mobilization
Citizens engaged in constant care for a family member, disabled people of group I, temporarily unfit for health reasons, employees of defense industry enterprises, as well as citizens who have four or more dependent children under the age of 16 are not subject to conscription.
Also, they will not call on citizens whose mothers, in addition to them, have four or more children under the age of eight years and bring them up without maturing.
Benefits and salaries of mobilized
Mobilized citizens receive status, payments and all social guarantees as contract soldiers, assured the Ministry of Defense.
Are citizens abroad being mobilized?
If Russian citizens permanently reside outside the country, they are not registered with the military and are not subject to conscription for military service for mobilization.
If the trip is short-term, and the citizen is registered at the place of residence in Russia, then he can be called up for military service as part of partial mobilization.
Where can I go for answers to questions about partial mobilization?
The Russian government has set up a call center for the procedure for partial mobilization. It is noted that both representatives of organizations and citizens can apply there to obtain the necessary information.
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians, in which he announced the beginning of a partial mobilization. He pointed out that this measure was taken to protect Russia, its sovereignty, territorial integrity and ensure the security of the Russian people.
