This Friday, January 14, Sevilla made the hiring of Jesús Manuel ‘Tecatito’ Corona official. The winger arrives from Porto, will wear number nine and will be linked to the red and white institution until 2025. In this way, the player from Hermosillo, Sonora, will become the fourth Aztec player to wear the Sevilla colors.
This is how it went for the Mexican soccer players who have played with Sevilla:
‘El Borrego’ was the first Mexican player to wear the Sevilla shirt. The iron midfielder played 41 games with the Andalusian squad and was sent off on one occasion. Torrado came to this club after showing his worth at the Ejido Sports Center. After three years at the club, in 2005, the Tri player arrived at Racing de Santander and later at Cruz Azul.
Miguel Layún, like Jesús Manuel Corona, arrived in Seville from Porto. The versatile Mexican winger played just 18 games with this squad and scored a couple of goals in his time as a Sevilla player. The red and white team did not make the purchase option valid and when his loan ended, the Dragons sold him to Villarreal. From there he went to Monterrey and from there to America.
‘Chicharito’ also recently wore the Sevilla shirt. The Mexican striker arrived at this club in mid-2019 and only spent one semester with the team before accepting the offer from the LA Galaxy of MLS. With the white and red he played just 15 games and was present on the scoreboard three times.
