The media discovered a billionaire who was considered dead with his mistress in Moscow

German-American billionaire Karl-Erivan Haub, who was declared dead in 2018 after he went skiing in the Alps, was found with his mistress in Moscow. The newspaper announced this on April 17 Daily Mail.

After his disappearance, authorities launched a six-day search that included five helicopters and alpine rescue teams searching the area, but the businessman's body was never found. He was 58 years old at the time of his alleged death.

However, a large-scale investigation by the German television channel RTL and Stern magazine showed that Haub lives in the Russian capital with a young mistress named Veronika Ermilova. He is believed to have contacted her by phone three days before his disappearance, with one of the calls lasting more than an hour. This led to speculation that the billionaire was planning to fake his death with the help of the girl.

According to investigators, she ran an event agency in St. Petersburg that organized skiing, hiking and mountaineering excursions for outdoor enthusiasts. She is also suspected of having connections with the Russian FSB. At the same time, the investigation emphasized that this “cannot be proven.” It is noted that they were together in Moscow and Sochi in 2008, and in 2009 both traveled on the same Moscow-St. Petersburg night train in different compartments. The trips were booked at the same time and by the same person.

According to RTL journalist Liv von Betticher, Haub's disappearance and appearance in Russia could be the result of his shady business dealings. Another TV channel journalist suggested that the billionaire could be working for Russia.

“I am confident that this was not a skiing accident, but a staged escape,” he said.

Haub is the former managing director and co-owner of German supermarket and retail giant Tengelmann Group. He left behind a wife, two children and a company with about 75 thousand employees.
