Bacalar, Mexico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador acknowledged this Sunday that the Maya Train will be completed in the next Administration.
“The holiday season is coming and many people will arrive, the train will start operating normally before the end of the year, I will not be here, the President will be here, but General (Gustavo) Vallejo will be here, he has already promised that we will have a full train and they always keep their promise,” said the President after supervising the works at the archaeological site of Ichkabal.
“Look, we have a budget, because since we have not allowed corruption, we have fought a lot, we have not applied much manicure, with a girl, it has not been much needed, it is just that before those at the top, right at the top, did not pay taxes, among other things, you know how much taxes were forgiven to the biggest, like what the Mayan train cost more than 500 billion and now since everyone is behaving well, almost everyone, they are already contributing, applause for the big taxpayers.” López Obrador also commissioned the opening of the Ichkabal archaeological zone to the director of the INAH, Diego Prieto, for the next few days.
In this sense, the President reiterated that he is leaving happy and that now he is going to go straight to the hammock.
“Although I am going to contradict myself, because before when we fought we said: listen, comrade, you don’t fight in a hammock, now I am going to grab the hammock,” he said after boasting that he will hand over the presidential sash to Claudia Sheinbaum.
