The Matrix Awakens technical demo with Unreal Engine 5 a success.
Since its release two months ago, the The Matrix Awakens from Epic Games has been downloaded more than six million times on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
The Game Awards 2021 in December highlighted the demo for the first time and Epic released it for next-gen consoles to show what its own will be able to do. Unreal Engine 5 next generation when it launches as a platform for game makers in 2022.
From the demo, Epic Games claimed that total downloads for Unreal Engine have increased nearly 40% since late 2020. Epic also said that since the launch of MetaHuman Creator in February, over a million MetaHuman have been created.

The Matrix Awakens tech demo really shows the future of video games and is “an incredible next-gen showcase not to be missed“for Digital Foundry. The tech demo was also launched to advertise the film The Matrix: Resurrections and, unlike the film, many have appreciated The Matrix Awakens for its incredible technical side and wonderful animations.
