Someone managed to decompile The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past, that is, he managed to reconstruct the source code of the game through reverse engineering. This means that Nintendo’s game is now fully exposed and we may soon have gods native ports for PC and other platforms.
Something similar has already happened to Super Mario 64, of which there are currently several PC versions, some much more advanced than the original with support for ray tracing and other graphic effects, as well as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, which has suffered the same fate.
As already mentioned, decompilation involves the possibility of acting directly on source code. The process for using the files is well explained in github page of the project. Of course we are waiting for modified versions of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past soon. We specify that you must own the original game to be able to use the files legally.
