The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport announced that, based on its role in regulating public transport operations in the emirate, the private sector has been given an opportunity to provide and operate the Abu Dhabi Express bus rapid transit service, as part of its continuous endeavor to develop public transport services and diversify transportation options by public buses. In order to facilitate the movement of community members and enable them to reach their intended destinations with the utmost comfort and in the least possible time.
Abu Dhabi Express services are characterized as direct, non-stop services, making its routes the fastest ways to travel, enabling bus users to reach their destinations quickly, comfortably and safely.
These services are distributed over several areas in Abu Dhabi, and come in two phases. The first phase includes the Musaffah Industrial Area and Mohammed bin Zayed City, while the second phase includes Khalifa City, Baniyas, Al Shahama District, Al Falah City, and other areas as needed, linking these cities directly to the city. Abu Dhabi through “4” direct and express operational services, in addition to “5” new operational services in different areas of the city of Al Ain, namely Al Hayer, Al Faqa’, Sweihan, Al Shuwaib, Nahil, Abu Samra, Al Waqan and Al Quaa, and the number of trips on the new fast tracks is 680. trip a week.
Abu Dhabi Express services include service No. E-01, which runs from ICAD city in the Musaffah region to Abu Dhabi city – the main bus station, and service No. E-02, which operates from Musaffah Station to Abu Dhabi city – the main bus station. And service number “E-03” that operates from Al Shabiya Bus Station in Mussafah to Abu Dhabi City – the main bus station, and service number “E-04” that runs from Safeer Mall in Khalifa City to Abu Dhabi City – the main bus station.
The Abu Dhabi Express service begins next Monday and is available from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays, and from 5:00 am to 01:00 am on weekends and public holidays. It operates in both directions with a frequency of every 10 minutes during peak hours, and a time frequency that does not exceed 25 minutes outside peak hours.
The service will also be operated within the first phase of the project, by both Al Ghazal Transport and Emirates Taxi, as those operating companies purchased 64 buses to provide the new service.
This comes within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between the Integrated Transport Center and the private sector to develop public transport services and improve the quality of services available in this sector. This is part of the efforts made to establish an integrated and sustainable transport system that facilitates the movement of residents, visitors and tourists, supports the local business environment, and improves the quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
On the other hand, the Integrated Transport Center stressed that the new service comes out of its commitment to provide fast, convenient and safe transportation services for the residents and pioneers of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and to enhance their comfort and save time and effort for them. Public bus services and an increase in the capacity of the bus transport network, based on its keenness to meet the growing demand for public transport bus services in cooperation with the private sector, improve the quality of services provided to customers and achieve happiness for them by providing fast, comfortable and safe transportation services that enhance their experience in using buses and make Mobility is a preferred option for all segments of society. On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi Express service contributes to eliminating the phenomenon of random transport, passenger smuggling and unorganized transport, and supports the center’s endeavors to provide sustainable transport services commensurate with Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination in its various sectors and services.
