Peskov urged not to exaggerate the complexity of the negotiations between Putin and Pashinyan
There are difficulties in relations between Russia and Armenia, but they should not be exaggerated. This appeal was made by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov on the air of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”.
After negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Peskov said that there were difficulties in relations between the two countries. At the same time, the complexity of the dialogue should not be overestimated, the Russian leader’s press secretary emphasized.
“Of course, there are certain problematic topics in our bilateral relations. But, on the other hand, the closer the interaction between two countries, the wider the complex of bilateral relations, the more often various problems meet and arise there,” Peskov said.
Putin held talks with Pashinyan on May 8 after a meeting of the Supreme Economic Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This is the first meeting of politicians since December 2023. The Kremlin emphasized that after this the leaders had virtually no contact, so today’s conversation is especially important.
Earlier, Pashinyan said that many problems had accumulated between Russia and Armenia.
