The situation on the line of contact in the Donbass is escalated to the maximum, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He made his assessment in program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.”
“When tension is escalated to the maximum, as it is now, for example, on the line of contact, then any spark, any unplanned incident or any minor planned provocation can lead to irreparable consequences,” Peskov warned.
He stressed that against such a background, the dates announced in the West about Russia’s alleged invasion of Ukraine threaten with bad consequences.
In February, the United States and Great Britain began to publish the dates when Russia allegedly plans to launch an “invasion” of Ukraine. So, on February 12, US President Joe Biden announced that Russia plans to launch an attack on Ukraine on February 16. And on February 11, Bloomberg wrote its assumption about the beginning of the invasion on February 15.
When the attack did not happen, the American edition of Politico, citing analysts, set a new date for the “invasion” – February 20.
