Guadalajara Jalisco.- The big night has arrived closure After eight days of celebrating the International Film Festival in Guadalajara (FICG) edition 37, where the jury chose the winning films and short films in each category.
From the Maguey Award that rewards the best of cinema from the LGBT+ community until the Mezcal Award that celebrates it best of mexican cinemathe international and national jury chose the best.
The Northern Tigers attended the gala to close the FICG with a flourish with the presentation of the documentary starring them directed by Carlos Pérez Osorio: “Los Tigres del Norte: Historias que narrar”, for which the ‘bosses of bosses’ received the FICG ICON Award.

“Scotland is not a bank”, directed by Carlos Matsuo and Cristian Franco from Guadalajara, was the award-winning film in that category that rewards the best of the state.
Maguey Award
Best Performance went to ensemble of actors from the Icelandic film “beautiful beings”, directed by Guomundur Arnar.
“Camila is going out tonight”, a film from Argentina, directed by Inés Barrionuevo, won the Jury Prize.
While, “my emptiness and me”, by Adrián Silvestre, produced in Spain, won the Maguey Award for Best Film.
Rigo Mora International Award for Animated Short Film

Ibero-American Documentary Feature Film
“Alis”, produced by Romania, Chile and Colombia, took the Mayahuel to the Best Ibero-American Documentarywhich was directed by Care Weiskopf and Nicolás Van Hemelryck.
For the best direction Sempere-Moya and Leire Apellaniz López, both Spanish, were awarded for the documentary by child of elche under the name “cosmic chant”.

Ibero-American Fiction Feature Film

Ibero-American short film
“Goodbye Calon” by Joao Borges once again received a Mayahuel for Best Ibero-American Short.
