In Siberia, a jury acquitted two defendants in the murder of a surgeon.
The Oktyabrsky Court of Novosibirsk, based on the jury’s verdict, passed a verdict against two defendants in the case of the massacre of surgeon Roman Bondarchuk. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk region.
The judge found Denis Golovanov guilty of violence committed in excess of the necessary defense, as well as intentionally causing minor harm to health using an object used as a weapon. He was sentenced to 2.5 years of suspended imprisonment with payment of 6.5 million rubles in moral compensation. The second defendant, Mikhail Sviridov, was found guilty by the court of intentionally causing minor bodily harm using an object used as a weapon, and sentenced to one year and 10 months of suspended imprisonment with payment of 500 thousand rubles in moral compensation.
The court clarified that Bondarchuk was deprived of his life on May 15, 2022. His acquaintances from Kazakhstan, Golovanov and Sviridov, immediately came under suspicion. According to investigators, a quarrel occurred between the men, which turned into a stabbing. At some point, Golovanov hit Bondarchuk in the neck and caused injuries incompatible with life. A criminal case was initiated against him under Part 1 of Article 105, and against Sviridov – under Parts 4, 5 of Article 33 and Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Later, the jury considered that the guilt of the defendants on these grounds had not been proven.
Earlier, a female jury in the Urals acquitted a man accused of murdering his lover more than eight years ago.
