The judge investigating the alleged irregularities in the transfer of the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia has summoned the former footballer of FC Barcelona and businessman Gerard Piqué to declare as charged at 9.30 on March 14, as recorded in a providence to The one that Europa Press has had access.

The head of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Majadahonda, Delia Rodrigo, charged Piqué last May by appreciating criminal indications in the commission that was awarded with that movement.

Rodrigo pointed to the agreement signed between the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), during the time of Luis Rubiales, and the Saudi authorities for the celebration of the Super Cup in the Arab country, remembering that “at the time of the contract” Piqué was a player in Active of FC Barcelona, ​​football team that participated in that same competition.

The judge stressed that in December 2020 it was signed by the RFEF and by Sela, the public company of Saudi Arabia, some addees for which the agreements were extended four more years, agreed to maintain a cousin of success in favor of the commissioner. which was identified as a third agent– during the years of the extension.

“That ‘third agent’ is revealed in a separate document, signed by Luis Rubiales (as president of the RFEF), by Saudi Arabia (Sela) and by Gerard Piqué (as a Kosmos representative). In short, for the RFEF it will have been, if the agreement is fulfilled until its term, an income of 400 million and for the Piqué company, 40 million, ”said the magistrate.

The judge put the focus on a clause that was called “essential” for which the RFEF “tried to guarantee the payment of the commission of 4 million euros per year in favor of Kosmos, even if this company formally would be the commissioner of Sela” .
