His defense asked to annul the summons because González Amador had a trip and his lawyers had a statement
The head of the Court of Instruction number 19 of Madrid, Inmaculada Iglesias, has suspended the summons to declare as investigated for two alleged tax crimes and another for document falsification of Alberto González Amador, partner of the regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso. He is considering leaving the appearance in the air until a pending appeal in the Provincial Court is resolved.
In a resolution to which ABC had access, the judge thus responded to the request of González Amador’s defense, who requested the suspension because he had a work trip to the United States and Mexico on the same dates and his lawyers, a previous indication in another procedure. He was called on February 7.
González Amador was already summoned last May and again in November, but on both occasions the call was suspended. The Prosecutor’s Office, like the popular accusations, had urged that he be called to testify since the one-year investigation period expires in March and this essential diligence has not yet been carried out.
The instructor then decided to summon him and the other four businessmen investigated in the case on February 7, but she had to suspend him again and again, without a date: “Prior to agreeing on a new appointment, transfer of the allegations of the defense to the Prosecutor’s Office and the rest of the parties in person so that they report, within a period of five days, on the request for suspension of the statements, until the Provincial Court resolves the appeal against the order that “agreed to open the separate room.”
This is the appeal presented by González Amador’s defense against the opening of a new line of investigation regarding the sale and purchase of a González Amador company to the wife of the president of Quirón Prevention. The judge initially rejected this expansion of the case requested by the parties but ended up agreeing to open the separate piece.
The matter is now in the hands of the Provincial Court of Madrid, where the Prosecutor’s Office, which initially did not share the decision to investigate this matter, has supported it to continue because “it is not unreasonable” to investigate whether other crimes occur.
