This year’s program includes as a novelty two appointments of the gastronomic capital, next Saturday
Fair flavors. The city of Vera Cruz becomes for a few days the center of regional gastronomy with the return of ‘Las Cocinas del Jubileo’. After the parenthesis of last year, it returns to the Paseo de La Corredera with the health prevention measures and the presence of leading hospitality establishments in the Northwest, along with a series of workshops designed for children. This initiative is part of the special programming on the occasion of the recovered Caravaca Fair.
The gastronomic event – sponsored by the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, with the collaboration of the City Council and the regional government – was presented yesterday in Murcia by the director of the Institute of Tourism, Juan Francisco Martínez; Councilor José Carlos Gómez and the older brother of the Cofradía de la Vera Cruz, Luis Melgarejo, who were accompanied by a representation of the private patrons of the foundation and the Regional Association for the Promotion of the Northwest Hospitality Industry.
The mayor of Tourism highlighted that “we are facing a new example of public-private collaboration that has carried out an activity aimed at promoting gastronomic tourism as one of the main strengths of the Northwest.” He added that “’The Jubilee Kitchens’ are part of the Caravaca Fair program, which with great enthusiasm on the part of the City Council and all the participants returns to the streets from this Friday with cultural, gastronomic and children’s alternatives ».
Integrated into the Fair, the event is endorsed by the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, the City Council and the Autonomous Community
Free and limited places
Among the novelties of this edition of ‘Las Cocinas del Jubileo’, highlights the celebration on Saturday of two initiatives of the program ‘Region of Murcia, Spanish Capital of Gastronomy’. These are the ‘Cooking with your grandfather’ workshop and the ‘Cooks en route’ showcooking. Both activities are free and have limited places.
The workshops ‘La abuela Feroz’ (tomorrow) and sushi (next Saturday) will be two complementary activities to this appointment. The restaurants participating in this edition are, among others, El Portón de la Compañía, Pedro Marín Restaurant, El Olivar, Ateneo, Denomination of Origin Bullas, Traditional Jams and Murcian Food Gastronomy.
