The Japanese multinational Yazaki, one of the main manufacturers of electronic components and wiring systems for the automotive industry, today inaugurated its new logistics center located in the Palencia town of Villamuriel de Cerrato, which will supply southwest Europe.
The ambassador of Japan, Takahiro Nakamae, accompanied by the chairman of Yazaki in EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa), Munenori Yamada, together with representatives of the main manufacturers and authorities such as the president of the Provincial Council, Ángeles Armisén, or the vice-counselor of Economy, Carlos Martín Tobalina, you have attended the inauguration of this logistics center, which It has involved an investment of more than 10 million euros.
This center has facilities of 12,000 square meters built, in addition to 30,000 square meters unbuilt, which guarantees enough space for fFuture expansions according to market needs and reinforces Yazaki’s ability to respond to the demands of the automotive sector in Europe.
Furthermore, its implementation involves the creation of more than 50 direct jobs in the short term, positions ranging from warehouse operators to engineers specialized in logistics and technology.
This new HUB acts as “gateway” to your supply chains between Africa and Europe and not only reinforces Palencia’s position as a strategic node in the automotive industry, but also represents “an important commitment by the company to the community and its infrastructure”, as Yazaki has assured.
This logistics center will be mainly dedicated to managing and distributing the supply of components for the main automobile manufacturers in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Romania and Türkiye. Yazaki, who has been operating in the sector for more than 80 years, sees Palencia as a unique opportunity thanks to its privileged geographical location and its excellent connections, which will facilitate efficient logistics towards the large industrial and vehicle assembly centers of southwestern Europe.
The Japanese company, which already has a presence in Europe, with more than 40,000 employees, is in a process of continental reorganization that seeks to adapt to the needs of its main clients, all of them with production plants in southwestern Europe.
Thus, this logistics center will be mainly dedicated to managing and distributing the supply of components for the main automobile manufacturers in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Romania and Turkey.
