The athletes Nacho Baltasar and Adrián Castaño; Institutions such as the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard or the innovative ESEA Propulsion project will collect the Timón Awards this Friday, in the ceremony that will take place at the APB Port Centre.
The IX edition of the Gaceta Náutica Timón Awards, which will be held this Friday, November 22, will recognize the potential of the islands’ athletes and the brilliant environmental, business and associative initiatives in the Balearic Islands.
The ceremony, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Port Center building of the APB, will be attended by the president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens; the president of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, Javier Sanz; the Minister of the Sea, Juan Manuel Lafuente; the chief colonel of the Civil Guard in the Balearic Islands, Alejandro Hernández; the maritime captain, José Escalas; the Councilor for Mobility of the Palma City Council, Antonio Deudero, and the head of the Naval Sector, Javier Núñez de Prado, among other guests.
Nacho Baltasar (Sailing), Adrián Castaño (Canoeing), Bernardí Alba (Fishing), the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard (Institution), Love the Mediterranean (Best Initiative in Social Matters and Sustainability-Redeia Award), Neus Jordi (Communication) , Toni Mulet (Trayectory) and ESEA Propulsion (Innovation-APB Award) join the list of illustrious winners of awards that were born in 2016 with the aim of recognizing the work of the most outstanding personalities and athletes in Balearic sailing and, at the same time, serving as a boost to the development of this sector, making its potential and excellence visible.
All the winners have stood out for their good international sporting results, for accumulating professional careers that have contributed to promoting the nautical industry, for promoting environmental and social initiatives that bring the sea closer to citizens, as well as for improving the management of port facilities.
The Timón Awards, whose gala will be presented by journalist Cristina Roig, have become the benchmark annual awards for nautical activities on the islands.
