The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace appreciated the decision of Spain, Ireland and Norway to officially recognize the State of Palestine, considering that it would enhance peace. The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Jarwan, said, “The Council and all its members and partners see that these decisions come as a historic step in the positive direction to achieve security, stability and peace in the world,” stressing that “such a decision contributes to strengthening international peace through Solving a crisis whose consequences have negatively affected the world for more than 75 years.
In its statement, the Council called on the countries of the world to officially recognize the State of Palestine in order to enhance international stability and peace, and to activate international legitimacy resolutions that urged the two-state solution as a way to achieve comprehensive and just peace in the region.
In the same context, the Council stressed the need to strengthen international efforts aimed at containing the current worsening crisis in the Gaza Strip, calling for the protection of defenseless civilians, especially children and women, a ceasefire, and an end to the war.
