The Mediterranean diet is the ideal diet for women’s longevity, said cardiologist Samia Mora. About the benefits of such a diet told edition of The Sun.
According to Mora, women who want to live long need to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fish. She called this nutrition plan optimal for maintaining health.
“Adherence to the Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of premature death. Scientists established this during a 25-year study involving more than 23 thousand healthy women over 45 years old,” the doctor commented in the scientific work.
The authors of the study proved that those who followed the designated diet plan as much as possible had a reduced risk of premature death by approximately 23 percent, even taking into account weight, height, and bad habits (including alcohol consumption).
