The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants against the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the former head of Defense, Yoav Gallant, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated in the military offensive on the Gaza Strip.
The court has also ordered the arrest of head of Hamas military wingMohamed Diab al Masri, known as ‘Abú Deif’, after other Islamist leaders previously identified, including Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniye, have lost their lives in recent months in Israeli operations.
The ICC Prosecutor’s Office had requested the arrest of all of them last May, so the scope of the crimes investigated will go from October 8, 2024 to May 20, 2024, the Hague court explained in a statement.
