Sverdlovsk Governor Kuyvashev urged Prigozhin not to interfere in regional politics
The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, responded to criticism from the founder of the private military company (PMC) Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin. In an interview with 66.ru, he declaredthat it is becoming increasingly difficult for a businessman to figure out how else to offend the region.
February 22 Prigogine declaredthat some Russian regions “frankly crap.” So, in the Sverdlovsk region, he noted, the authorities refuse to bury the participants of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine with honors. Prigozhin also criticized the YaNAO, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. He called the situation in a number of Russian subjects “formal lawlessness.”
Responding to this statement, Kuyvashev said that the head of the PMC “pokes his nose” into the regional administration, and called this fact lawlessness. “If every businessman who makes money on school meals tries to run the country, we will not go far,” the governor believes.
The politician pointed out that everyone should mind their own business. “You cook cutlets and cook pasta, and we will figure it out in the regions,” he concluded.
At the end of January, Prigozhin lashed out at the authorities of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug because of problems with the funeral of a NVO member. The businessman stated that the relatives of the deceased faced difficulties in organizing the funeral due to the opposition of the local administration.
