The Government advocates protecting the public housing stock “for life” so that houses protected by public administrations cannot be disqualified and can be put up for sale at a free price once the protection period has expired. This is what the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodríguez, has proposed during her speech in the plenary session of the Congress of Deputies, where today the different political formations will question the Government for its housing policies. «The protection of public housing must be protected in perpetuity and the autonomous communities have a lot to say. I hope it will be a unanimous agreement, if not the way things happen will also allow it to be done through the Housing Law or other instruments that the Government has to make it viable,” defended the head of the branch in another clear order to the autonomies after the disagreement a few weeks ago over the “insubordination” that Rodríguez said they were showing to apply the Housing law.
