While Pedro Sánchez is in Brussels trying to convince the European Commission to suffer the increase in the expenditure in defense of member countries, the party with which the PSOE shares the Council of Ministers, add, has joined the most radical approaches of the left to not only reject the increase in investment in security, but even demand the departure of Spain from NATO.

ERC has adhered to the improvised antimilitarist entente in the section of the motion that demanded that the Government give up any increase in military spending that involves a reduction in resources available for social policies and public investments. These three points have been rejected with the vote against the rest of the Congress, coinciding in all of them PP, PSOE and Vox, among others.
The lower house has approved the other three points of the motion driven by the BNG, which also respond to the interpellation that motivated this initiative.
