It will have a gas station, sale of lubricants and spare parts, charging points for electric vehicles, a shop, cafeteria, restaurant, picnic area, parking and green areas.
The Council of Ministers, at its meeting on Tuesday and at the proposal of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), authorized the tender for the works concession contract for the construction and operation of the Altiplano service area, at point kilometer 44+500 of the A-33 highway, in the municipality of Yecla.
The estimated value of the contract amounts to 92.3 million euros (excluding VAT), according to central government sources in a statement.
The making available of the land on October 20, 2022, was the last requirement necessary to begin the procedures for bidding for the concession contract, which implied its authorization by the Council of Ministers.
The Altiplano service area will be located on both sides of km 44.50 of the A-33 motorway and will have a service station, sale of lubricants and frequent spare parts, electric vehicle charging points, shop, cafeteria, restaurant, children’s area, picnic area, green areas and car parks, among other functions.
The preparation of the tender for the concession contract goes hand in hand with the execution of the final section of the A-33 motorway, between Yecla and Caudete, ensuring that users have essential services for their comfort and safety.
This dual carriageway will become the fastest and most fuel-saving alternative between Valencia and Murcia, especially for heavy vehicles, as it has an excellent layout and an optimized slope.
