The board of directors of Fair 2000 has appointed the architect Albert Civit as its new director, as reported by the Ministry of Business and Labor of the Generalitat.
The appointment took place at the first meeting of the body, which was chaired by the counselor of Economy and Finance, Alicia Romerowho assumes the position of president of the council.
It is the first time that a counselor adopts this position, “a change that responds to the will of institutional partners to promote projects” that are in the development phase.
Among these projects are the expansion of the Gran Via venue at Fira de Barcelonathe remodeling of the Montjuïc site or the celebration of the centenary of the 1929 Universal Exhibition.
The Generalitat has 52.42% of the shareholders of Fira 2000, while Barcelona City Council, 24.05%; the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and the L’Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council (Barcelona), 7.44%, respectively, and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, 1.21%.
