The French Foreign Ministry threatened Russian diplomats because of words about instructors
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has threatened the Russian Embassy in Paris with consequences because of the words of Russian diplomats that French military instructors sent to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces. This is reported by France-Presse (AFP).
“These are outrageous statements that will not remain without consequences,” the agency quoted Deputy Spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry Christophe Lemoine as saying.
He also added that the possibility of summoning the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry is under discussion.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that French soldiers who are in Ukraine as instructors or mercenaries are legitimate targets of the Russian army. According to him, there is reason to believe that French soldiers are in the combat zone.
