Former head coach of Spartak Guillermo Abascal on his Instagram (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) spoke out for the first time after his dismissal from the Moscow team.
The specialist thanked all the people associated with the red and white. “The path we walked together will forever remain in my memory. Every moment we spent together was a priceless gift that I can never forget,” Abascal said.
The coach added that he gave all his strength to Spartak. “Thank you for your warm welcome from day one and your constant support,” the Spaniard wrote.
Abascal was fired from Spartak on April 14. He has been working with the red-whites since the summer of 2022. In the 2022/2023 season, the team under his leadership became the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship; the Muscovites finished the current championship in fifth place.
