In the first highly demanding exam in 2022, millionaires lost at home against National Athletic, a team with one of the best payrolls in the country. Although he was dominating at times, the lack of forcefulness and defensive errors cost him a painful defeat.
The defeat leaves the team he leads Alberto Gamero with just four points, after three days, and with the feeling that the payroll may fall short to fight on the two fronts it has in the first half, the League and the Copa Libertadores. These are the five causes of blue defeat.

The balance of the first game of Millionaires as a local.
1. Lack of forcefulness. Millionaires had the ball for a long time in the first stage. But that moment seemed like an extension of the second half against Pasto and the match against Bucaramanga: a lot of possession for so little generation of options. Millos only had one shot on goal in the first half.
2. Lack of reaction on defense. Nacional’s two goals came after defensive failures. In the first, Elvis Perlaza lost his back and allowed Álvaro Angulo to cross. Larry Vásquez went back to try to cover that gap and then, when goalkeeper Montero rebounded, there were no brand flyers to avoid Yeison Guzmán’s shot. In the second there were again two rebounds, one by Montero and another off the post, without anyone reacting to avoid danger.
3. There is no plan B. Millionaires have learned their main script very well and know how to interpret it: arrive through elaboration. But when a team closes the routes to the opposite goal, it runs out of variants. There is no middle distance, it is not played long and the dribbling around the area is unproductive.

4. Huge difference in the bank. Nacional had three players with a lot of experience as substitutes: Giovanni Moreno, Dorlan Pabón and Jhon Duque, who quickly got into the game idea of their team. Millos, on the other hand, had to appeal to what he has left: his only reinforcement in the midfield, the Venezuelan Eduardo Sosa; two players from the inferiors who have not yet consolidated, Jáder Valencia and Yuber Quiñones, and Ricardo Márquez, who has not yet shown in Millos what he had achieved in Unión Magdalena. The weight of that experience was felt on the court.
5. Something goes from Uribe to Herazo. If they take advantage of it well, Diego Herazo can score goals in Millonarios. But it is not Fernando Uribe and his contribution to the collective game is not the same: he does not enter the circuit as much and that has taken away Millonarios’ offensive weight.
