During DisplayWeek 2024, TCL showed off a new incredible 4K panel with 1000 Hz refresh rate, breaking the records achieved so far. The company has not announced the presence of this technology and there are no official announcements about it.
Despite the lack of information, let’s try to discover all the details on this new display which could revolutionize the gaming segment.
A 4K display at 1000 Hz
The news comes from Blur Basters, through his profile X: during the event DisplayWeek 2024 which kicked off in California, TCL showcased a number of new technologies. Among these, the one showcased by TCL CSOT certainly stands out, a 4K panel with a 1000 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the company has not released official details on its new jewel and the only official information can be found in the few dedicated lines in the press release from the event organizers: “TCL CSOT will also introduce the 7.85″ Under Screen Face Auth display, the world’s first 57″ 6.9mm thick MLED MNT, as well as the world’s first 4K MNT with the highest 1000Hz refresh rate“.
On a theoretical level, technology Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 (ULMB 2) from NVIDIA allows you to achieve such high refresh rates. Until now, however, hardware capable of reaching up to 1000 Hz had never been seen, at least publicly.
However, it will be much more problematic to find a GPU capable of exploiting a monitor of this type: at present, certain frequencies are only touched in the Esports sector, lowering the resolution to 1080p and limited to some titles such as Counter Strike 2.
Speaking of spectacular displays, we recently saw Samsung’s new Micro LED panel capable of releasing very high brightness peaks. Will it really be the future of gaming?
