Ralph Ineson will play the role of Galactus in the new Marvel movie The Fantastic Four, according to what was revealed by the Hollywood Reporter. The British actor has previously participated in productions such as Game of Thrones and Willow.
Ineson will join the cast of The Fantastic Four announced last February, as part of a project eagerly awaited by fans, whose filming will start in mid-summer in England.
Speaking of cast, in recent weeks it has been revealed that Julia Garner will play the role of Shalla-Bal, i.e. the female version of Silver Surfer belonging to a Marvel universe different from the one we know.
Paul Walter Hauser (it is unclear which character he will bring to the screen, perhaps the Mole Man?) and John Malkovich have also been cast. L’release of the film is scheduled for July 25, 2025.
A powerful villain
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, right on the pages of Fantastic Four, Galactus is actually something other than a simple villain: we are talking about a powerful and mysterious entity, witness to what existed before the current universe, but at the same time a terrible threat to any form of life.
To survive, in fact, this titan it must constantly feed on the energy of entire planets, ending up destroying them. Those who find these “meals” for him are the heralds, who receive a part of his cosmic energy to be able to travel at great speed in the galaxy and bring the message of doom that anticipates the arrival of the devourer of worlds.
This is not the first time that Galactus has appeared in a film, although in Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer the character has been profoundly reinterpreted, becoming a sort of “cosmic swarm”.
