A new fraud It circulates through emails, simulating a communication from a human resources department that contacts the victim to offer a job, but with the real objective of stealing data and money.
An email, a message on social networks or a call. The form that the new scam that circulates on the Internet takes is varied, but the objective is always the same: deceive the victim with a false job offer to steal their data and money.
The way of acting is also repeated, regardless of the format. A human resources department contacts the victim to offer a position that requires little responsibility but has very good remuneration.
The message the victim receives includes the name of the company, a person who claims to speak on her behalf, and even refers to the previous sending of a CV, inquiring about a job offer. It also details the conditions, hours and salary.
At the end, the victim is asked to respond to the message to continue talking about the alleged job offer. In the case of telephone calls, it is an automated announcement lasting a few seconds that also asks the victim to contact them.
As the National Cybersecurity Institute (Incibe) warns, the purpose of this fraud is to obtain the victim’s personal data to commit future targeted attack frauds, but also their money, since in some variations it has been detected that they request a amount.
