The Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) registered this Monday the first complaint against the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazónfor his management of DANA. It is the Iustitia Europa organization the signatory of the complaint, the same person who is also involved in the case against Begoña Gómez and David Sánchez, wife and brother of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
The TSJCV has forwarded the complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to report on its admission or non-admission for processing.
Iustitia Europe It is a political party that presents itself as the anti-party and invokes anti-politics to attack the Government of Pedro Sánchez and the Executive of Carlos Mazón for the management of the DANA disasters, which has claimed 214 fatalities, according to the latest official data.
Before the complaint against Mazón, this organization, born to protest the confinement during the pandemic and which came to question the vaccines against covid, presented another in the Supreme Court against the president Pedro Sanchez and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaskafor alleged inaction in the management of DANA. The complaint was expanded this Monday to include Teresa Ribera, Minister of Ecological Transition.
Iustitia Europe accuses them of the crimes of omission of the duty to help, prevaricationreckless homicide and injuries. In the specific case of Minister Ribera, he accuses her of “direct responsibility” for being the highest authority over the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ).
The party of Santiago Abascal registered another complaint in the Supreme Court against the Government of Pedro Sánchez, focused on the alleged inaction of the Executive, pointing out Grande-Marlaska, Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense, and Teresa Ribera. Vox accuses them, along with President Sánchez, of “serious recklessness” “resulting in death or injury.”
Likewise, the far-right pseudo-union Clean Hands has filed a complaint in the Supreme Court for reckless homicide against the President of the Government and the Ministers Grande-Marlaska, Robles, Ribera, and the head of Territorial Policy, Angel Victor Torresfor “not having declared a state of alarm” after the havoc caused by DANA.
Clean Hands has also filed a complaint against the person responsible for the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET)María José Rallo del Olmo, and against the director of the Valencian Emergency Response AgencyJavier Montero, for a crime of reckless homicide.
Antipolitics makes its appearance
Since the next day in which the DANA devastated numerous towns of Valencia and Castile La Manchaon October 29, causing 214 moral victims and multiple material damages, the extreme right and its speakers on social networks have invoked anti-politics to blame the central Government and the Executive of Carlos Mazón of not having foreseen the effects of DANA in advance and not having deployed sufficient means to help the victims.
Those calls to antipoliticswhich they incite with slogans such as “All politicians are equal” and “Only the people save the people” and which sow distrust in public administrations in emergency situations are not new: they come from the pandemic. In fact, Vox denounced the Government of Pedro Sánchez for the same crimes for which it is now denouncing him by DANA, accusing him then of not having effectively managed the crisis caused by covid-19.
