At the beginning of July, the new consultations and new spaces at the Rocafonda-Palau CAP, on the Pintor Rafael Estrany road in Mataró (Maresme), came into operation. The expansion works, started in June 2023, have made it possible to gain 800 square meters, so the center has gone from 17 consultations to 28, and a new multipurpose health education classroom.
The expansion has been carried out on a site adjacent to the old building, so that the CAP’s healthcare activity has been able to remain active during the year that the works have lasted, with complete normality. The land has been donated by the Mataró City Council.
The CAP Rocafonda-Palau is a center managed by the Catalan Health Institute. It serves the adult and pediatric population of the neighborhoods of Rocafonda, El Palau-Escorxador and Can Quirze. The human team (with professionals from family medicine, pediatrics, nursing, dentistry, social work and citizen care) has been reinforced in recent months with the incorporation of new roles such as the emotional well-being reference and nutrition professionals, physiotherapy and dental hygiene.
The expansion works have involved a total investment of 2.05 million, financed by the Servei Català de la Salut with European REACT Funds.
